PHOTOGRAPHY
Mercado, 107 Prado, Havana, Cuba. In 1927, my grandfather Abe Gordon visited the Merayo photography studio located at this address to have his portrait taken. A refugee from Belarus/Poland, he was unexpectedly detained in Havana for two years before making his way to New York and eventually White Plains where he established a thriving delicatessen and raised a family with his wife, Mollie Feldman.
Prior to becoming a photographer, Marjorie Greenspan Kaufman was a finance professional. In 2010, she was named one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds by the Hedge Fund Journal. In 2016 she was featured in Institutional Investor Alpha as a hedge fund "good guy" for her work supporting education for underprivileged girls . She has served on several philanthropic boards including Student Leadership Network, Westchester Land Trust, Hilltop Cares Foundation, and High Water Women. Currently she serves on the Naples, FL board of JNF.
Marjorie holds a BA magna cum laude in economics and anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Marjorie is also a graduate of the Horace Mann School in NY. She was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996.
Marjorie and her husband Dr. David Kaufman live in Bonita Springs, FL for most of the year where she is a member of United Arts Collier.In addition to pursuing photography, Marjorie is excited to be singing soprano with the Naples Philharmonic Chorus this season at Artis Naples.
Marjorie is pleased to announce that she is now exhibiting her photography at the Trillium Gallery in the Naples Art District.

Marjorie Kaufman had long been interested in photography, but pressing obligations such as a career in finance, raising two boys and repeated unsuccessful attempts to improve her golf handicap prevented her from pursuing this inclination.
During a sabbatical in 2011, Marjorie dove into the world of photography with classes at the International Center of Photography. Subsequently she has worked to refine her technique through workshops with Keith Carter, Sam Abell, Arthur Meyerson, Tony Bonanno and Tillman Crane.

Recently her pieces have been shown in exhibits at Method & Concept in Naples, FL and the Stamford Art Association in CT. She has self-published three collections of images: "(Un)Natural Elements By The Sound"- an environmental photo essay, "Iceland in August", and "White Sands". Marjorie's images have been published in Le Courrier and the Tico Times.
